A useful fit for

A source-based reference for the 1000 size’s internal mounting, adjustable output, integrated UV LED module and model-specific published range; it is not presently a US buying recommendation.

The main tradeoff

The exact US page says NOT AVAILABLE IN USA YET; its current US retail package and electrical edition are unknown. The page and linked manual disagree on wattage, and no high-waste rating or litre-rated basket volume is published.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does this model avoid the need for a below-aquarium canister position?

Yes as a documented arrangement: Aquael describes the UNIFILTER UV as an internal filter with an in-tank holder; the manual requires the body to sit below the waterline while the aeration regulator stays above it. It still takes up tank space and needs removal/service clearance. The exact US page says this model is not available in the USA yet, so this is not a current US buying match.

What volume label does Aquael publish for the 1000 size, and is that a waste-load guarantee?

The exact US-localized page pairs 66–92 US gallons with 250–350 L and lists maximum flow 264 GPH / 1000 L/h. These maker figures are not fish-count or high-waste guidance; the older generic manual disagrees on power and the 500 lower metric endpoint. The page says not available in the USA yet.

What is unusual about this filter’s UV LED and sponge service arrangement?

Aquael describes a UV LED module that can be switched independently of filtration and two separate sponge cartridges that can be cleaned in turns. Its manual warns against running the UV LEDs outside the filter housing or looking at them; it gives only a conditional service-life estimate. The page is not a US retail offer.

Aquael’s US-localized UNIFILTER UV page names three powered versions, and the largest is the UNIFILTER 1000 UV POWER, Art. nr. 107404. The page explicitly states “NOT AVAILABLE IN USA YET.” This review keeps the 1000 as a reference model for comparison, not as a current US buying recommendation. It is materially different from its smaller siblings: the manufacturer table gives it the largest stated aquarium band and maximum output, while the linked manual describes an included biological-media chamber for this size.

More output, a longer body and a distinct media chamber

The exact US page pairs 66–92 US gallons with 250–350 L, lists 264 US gal/h / 1,000 L/h as maximum efficiency, and gives 10.9 W. The manual’s technical table reports a 250–350 L tank-volume line, 1,000 L/h maximum output and 11.9 W, so the localized page and linked manual disagree on wattage. The flow numbers are maker-published maxima, not an independent measure of circulation after media, installation and return placement. Aquael does not publish a minimum flow, fish-count limit or explicit high-waste rating. Its gallon label is not a stocking guarantee.

The 1000 is labeled 2.6 × 4.4 × 12.1 inches / 6.7 × 11.2 × 30.8 cm. The paired 2.6-inch and 6.7-cm width values do not directly convert; retain both printed values and verify actual fit. They are nominal dimensions, not clearance. The manual lists a 25 cm maximum immersion depth; its instructions say the motor body top sits below water while the aeration regulator stays above it. This longer body takes more tank height than the 500/750, but exact fit depends on waterline, hood and service access.

Biological media is not the same as a basket rating

The manual says the UNIFILTER UV POWER 1000 includes a BIO chamber with BIOCERAMAX PRO 600 biological media; it also says extra BIO chambers may be purchased for the 500, 750 and 1000. The exact US page calls the family expandable and marks mechanical media as included, but does not verify a US 1000 retail box or its contents. The cited manual is generic multilingual material, so its included-media statement should be checked against any future seller package rather than treated as proof of a current US bundle. The chamber adds a separately described biological-media stage, but the sources do not give a litre-rated basket volume. No numeric capacity should be inferred from the name “1000,” the included ceramic media or the flow figure.

Like the other family sizes, this model uses two separate sponge cartridges. Aquael recommends removing and cleaning them in turns, rather than washing both at once; the manual directs rinsing filter media in water removed from the aquarium. It also calls for cleaning the impeller chamber and UV-module lenses and cautions against detergents or solvents. The manual lists sponge insert part 00086 and BIO-container part 02528 for 750/1000, but the consulted exact US page does not establish standalone US parts availability. Those part numbers help identify service components; they are not proof of a local purchase offer.

UV LED use has operational limits

The integrated UV LED module is a central feature of this version. Aquael says the LEDs can be switched independently of filtration and describes their intended use as limiting suspended algae, protozoa and bacteria to support water clarity. That wording is a maker claim, not independent evidence that the module treats disease or clears every aquarium. The manual warns that UV can harm eyes and skin; it instructs that the module be operated only inside the filter housing and says not to look directly at the illuminated LEDs. This safety instruction should travel with the feature description, not be hidden behind the word “sterilizer.”

The manual estimates that, under its assumed normal aquarium use, the LEDs may lose around 20% of output after 10,000 hours; water temperature and supply voltage affect lifetime. This is not a firm service interval. The manual gives the 750/1000 module family item 107401, but no current US replacement source was established.

Electrical and package verification remain decisive

The manual lists 220–240 V / 50 Hz, a 1.5 m cord and Polish/EU safety-standard scope. These details do not establish a US-compatible electrical package—especially because Aquael’s page says the model is not available in the USA yet. The exact US page’s 10.9 W differs from the manual’s 11.9 W, which is another reason not to substitute a manual’s generic values for a model plate. Do not assume a plug adapter changes electrical compatibility. A future US listing should identify the exact item, nameplate, box contents and replacement-module path before comparison as a US option.

How the three size rows compare

The smaller 500 is labeled 26–52 US gallons and 500 L/h, while the 750 is labeled 52–79 gallons and 750 L/h; the 1000 is labeled 66–92 gallons and 1,000 L/h. The table overlaps at 52 gallons and, between the 750 and 1000, across 66–79 gallons. A published overlap does not settle which filter suits a particular waste load, livestock or circulation preference. All three share adjustable output, directional outflow, UV LEDs and two serviceable sponge cartridges; the 1000’s separately described BIO chamber and longer body are the clearest configuration differences supported by the linked sources.

Bottom line: the 1000 is the high-output, longest-bodied UNIFILTER UV variant and the only size whose linked manual explicitly describes an included BIO chamber and BIOCERAMAX PRO 600. That is a useful distinction for identifying a package, not evidence of measured basket capacity or high-bioload suitability. Until Aquael publishes a current US offer that resolves the “not available” statement, exact box and electrical configuration, it remains outside the current US finder and has no BuyerShortlists purchase page.
